Joaquin Roca Rey

The Collection “Joaquin Roca Rey: dal Perù a Brufa il viaggio di uno scultore” (From Perù to Brufa, the travel of a sculptor) shows 27 art works documenting the artistic career of the Peruvian artist from the ‘60s of last century till the beginning of the new millennium.

Through several different experimentations, with different materials (wood, iron, brass, marble) the artist tells a world of symbolic and surrealistic forms, originating in the myth of the pre-Columbian legends.  

Thanks to the annual event “Scultori a Brufa”, to which the artist took part in 1999, it is today possible to admire this collection, as the same sculptor wanted to place the art works in the village.  After his death his son as well decided to facilitate this exhibition.
