Castello di Pieve San Quirico (Le Torri di Bagnara)

Strada della Bruna, Pieve San Quirico - Solfagnano

Hamlets and Castles

The complex in Pieve San Quirico (castle and church), is located within the Tenuta di Bagnara, ancient farm and natural reserve of 590 hectares, in the Media Valle del Tevere, few kilometres north of Perugia.

The first settlement dates back to the XI Century and was intended as a fortress protecting the country church of San Quirico, became parish between the XII and XIII Centuries. During the XIII Century, the Castle has been enlarged becoming what can today be seen, with an inner courtyard and an octangular tower, typical of manors of Federician style (after Federico II of Svevia).

In the XVIII Century, the little medieval church dedicated to San Quirico within the castle has been destroyed and on the northern part of the complex a Pieve (Parish church) was built, today still consecrated, out of which the complex takes its name.

The Castle is surrounded by a garden park of 5.000 square meters with a panoramic swimming pool and a view on the valley of the Tevere.

The Villa is in SpoSi a Perugia project.
