The educational wood, a natural and environmental area of about 80.000 m², owned by the Municipality of Perugia, has as its aim that of promoting the knowledge and valorization of the environment, with particular regard to the vegetable world. 

Within more than 1,000 botanic species can be found, trees, bushes and grasses, belonging to 150 different families. There are two greenhouses dedicated to succulent plants, one to citrus, a big one dome shaped with tropical plants and another one with plants of subtropical provenience.

To note also two little lakes with waterplants, a rose garden with more than 300 varieties of roses, ancient and modern, a wide area with herbaceous perennials, an orchard with ancient species, a model of  wet woods and one of riparian forest.

Opening Hours: always open, but the entrance to the greenhouses is allowed only accompanied by operators, therefore possible only in their working hours. Summer: Mondays 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm; Tuesdays - Saturdays 8:30 am - 12:00 pm, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm; Sundays 8:30 am - 12:00 pm. Winter: Mondays 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm; Tuesdays - Saturdays 8:30 am - 12:00 pm, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm; Sundays 8:30 am - 12:00 pm.
