Fountain of Neptune

Viale Indipendenza (Sant'Ercolano Garden)

Also known as Sant’Ercolano Fountain

The Fontana di Nettuno (Neptune Fountain) , now located in Viale Indipendenza, was dismantled  from Piazza Matteotti in 1854 and recomposed in the Sant’Ercolano garden in 1887, following the project of the municipality engineer Filippo Lardoni.

It dates back to the XVII Century according to the peruginian historians S. Siepi e L. Bonazzi.

The fountain is composed by an octagonal basin; in the centre of it a column supporting a tank from which the bust of Neptune come out.
