The great Art Historian Ernst Gombrich, who also wrote historic dissemination for children A Little History of the World, entitled his collection of essays on art theory Meditations on a Hobby Horse And Other Essays on the Theory of Art, underlying in this way the importance of imagination for the creation process. The imagining is strongly visible on the frescos of the counter-façade of the Templar Complex of San Bevignate, in which the far away “Holy Land” is given by representing huge phantasy trees and ferocious animals. In the same frescos are several horses, of fundamental importance for the Templars, with rich and colourful harness. The workshop is focused on the discovery of this aspect of the art and life of the Templar, and is divided into two parts: the first where the Templar Horses will be presented, and the second where those involved will be asked to create their own Templar horse, using cardboard for the head, body and harness.
