Castello di Bagnara

Strada della Bruna, 8 – Solfagnano

Hamlets and Castles

The castle of Bagnara is right at the centre of the Tenuta di Bagnara, ancient farm of the Media Valle del Tevere umbra, few kilometers north of Perugia. It is composed by a gathering of buildings made starting from the XI Century, the first of which was a building made as manor with rooms with cross vaults and, in the long part, a square little tower. Afterwards also a stone mill was added, and in the XUV Century, a rounded tower.

Only at the end of the XV Century the Bagnara Palace was built, with three floors and an wide helical stairs, placed within the little tower.

Outside there’s a little Chapel dating back to the XVII Century dedicated to San Carlo Borromeo and still consecrated. The castle has a wide Park of about 1 hectare with Italian gardens and a big swimming pool. Since 1901, the manor is the private residence of the counts Giunta-Tremi, great grandchildren of Napoleon Bonaparte.

The Castle is in SpoSi a Perugia project
