The territorial division of Perugia and its countryside follows the maps by Francesco Cacciavillani of 1817 and 1818 to illustrate the unpublished masterpiece of Annibale Mariotti (Memorie istoriche de Castelli e Ville del Territorio di Perugia – historical memories of Castles and Villas on peruginian territory, end of XVIII). The analytic survey of the 5 maps is today in progress, for this reason it is possible to find variations on the border areas.

Visit to the Keep of St Angelo Gate (Torre del Cassero)

St Angelo Keep - Torre del Cassero di Porta Sant'Angelo - has been reopened since 16 November 2023. It is now part of the project "Borgo Sant'Angeli, among art and creativity treasures"
